Overview: The UvA offers a prestigious new scholarship programme for exceptionally talented Master’s students from outside Europe. The Amsterdam Excellence Scholarship (AES) is a full scholarship of €25,000, covering tuition and living expenses for one academic year.

- Amsterdam Law School
- Faculty of Economics and Business
- Faculty of Science
- Graduate School of Humanities
- Graduate School of Social Sciences
Scholarship Value: The AES is a full scholarship of €25,000 (covering tuition and living expenses) for one academic year with the possibility of extension for a second year (for two-year Master’s programmes).
Requirements: Non-EU students from any discipline who graduated in the top 10% of their class may apply. Selection is on the basis of academic excellence, ambition and the relevance of the selected Master’s programme to a student’s future career.
For two-year Master’s programmes, there is the possibility of an extension for a second year. Scholarship recipients become part of a select community, taking part, for example, in extracurricular activities developed specially for them.
How to apply: Applications for 2016-2017 will be accepted starting from November/December 2016.
As long as you meet all the requirements, you can apply for the AES at the same time as you register for your programme. Applications are made through the admissions office of the faculties and graduate schools. Students should contact the faculty offering the study programme of their choice for more information on how to apply for AES.
