2016-2017 Hurford Youth Fellowship

Overview: The World Youth Movement for Democracy, working with the International  Forum for Democratic Studies at National Endowment for Democracy, will host 3 fellows per year from around the world in its Washington, DC Office.

Program Starts: August – November 2016 and February – May 2017

Target Group: Youths

Program Focus: During 4 Months, each fellow will have the opportunity to build their leadership skills and contribute to the development of the World Youth Movement for Democracy.

Benefits: A monthly stipend will be provided, along with airfare costs to and from home country
Take part in planning and implementing other activities of the World Youth Movement

Requirements: Applicants must have a working knowledge of English and be under 30 years of age.
They must demonstrate strong interest in democratic activism and in the advancement of democracy in their respective communities, as well as worldwide.
Youth affiliated with civil society organizations are especially encouraged to apply.
The Hurford Youth Fellows Program is open to applicants from any country.

How to Apply: Applicants are asked to submit the following:
Applicant Form;
C.V/Resume;
Two Letters of Recommendation.

Preparing Your Application Materials: The Applicant Form has four sections: (1 )Personal Information; (2) Project Proposal; (3) Curriculum Vitae/Résumé; and (4)Letters of Recommendation. Each applicant must complete the entire form. Please note that incomplete application forms will not be reviewed.
Please send your letter of recommendation via email to youthfellows@ned.org.
Letters of recommendation must be submitted in English or accompanied by an English translation. Please format your letter in MS Word Document (.doc) or Adobe PDF (.pdf). Please note that your letter of recommendation should not be shared with the applicant.
